Father's Day Weekend
Saturday morning we got up bright and early and took the 30 minute drive to Cuff's Farm to pick strawberries. The weather was perfect and we were able to pick 4 flats of yummy ripe strawberries in about 1/2 an hour. In the afternoon we painted the deck and then worked on making freezer jam. After that I made a strawberry pie. I cant even begin to tell you how sick I am of strawberries at this point! I know we will love having the frozen jam and sliced strawberries for months to come. I just think I would throw up if I had to eat one more right now. :)
This morning we served Doug Belgian waffles in his new professional flip waffle maker. After church we went to the Summers home for our traditional Father's Day get together. This is the 3rd Fathers Day that we have been at their home. The first was when we were moving Doug here 2 years ago. I cant believe we have already lived here for 2 years. Anyway, we enjoyed a great meal with them. Kevin makes killer burgers and Stacy makes a mean strawberry spinach salad! We enjoyed their company as well as Lindsey and Carter Gregory who came over as well.
I am blessed to have some truly wonderful Father's/men in my life, starting with the one that raised me. Then there is my husband, grandpa Brewer, my brothers, etc. who have made a positive impact on my life. I thank them for their examples and all that they have taught me. Most of all thanks for your patience and putting up with me! Love you all.
