Doug, Dakota, and Kevin Summers enjoyed a backpacking trip to the Porcupine Mountain range in Michigan's Upper Peninsula this past summer. The scenery was beautiful and they had a great time. I suppose sometimes it is nice to have a break from the women and be all manly and connect with nature.

Doug's trip to Europe
Doug went to Europe late last fall on business and visited Switzerland, Germany, and France. He saw some beautiful sights and ate some interesting food. I hope I can go with him next time!

Alayna's Cabrio
Alayna has been working hard this year at Tom's Drive-in so that she could purchase her first car. We made it happen a few weeks ago and she is the proud owner of a Volkswagen Cabrio convertable and she loves it! We hope it will be a reliable car for her as we are sending her half way across the country to Logan to go to school in June.

Madison Trip
We spent a couple days in Madison during spring break. The first day we went to the Henry Vilas Zoo and were impressed how nice it was, considering the Zoo is free. Our favorites were the polar and grizzly bears, Red Panda, and penguins. Later that evening we took a short drive to the troll capitol of the world, then went swimming at the hotel pool. The following day we toured the State Capitol building, History Museum, and Museum of Contemporary Art. The capitol building was beautiful and very interesting. The history museum was also great, we learned a lot there. The Musuem of Contemporary Art we could have lived without. I finally had to tell them they couldn't see anymore naked ladies, we had to get out of there! It was great to have a break and get to see some new sights and bond as a family. I'm ready for my next little vacation in June...

Catching Up- September to November
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving feast at the Summers home!
Arissa's Birthday party in November. She had all but 1 of the girls in her class over for a sleepover. They had lots of fun watching a movie that Doug projected on the wall for them, eating pizza, cake, and ice cream, and doing all things that 11 and 12 year old girls do! She is in Young Women's now at church and is LOVING it!
Alayna at homecoming. She is becoming quite the beautiful young lady.
